Who We Are
Rhinegold Equestrian was born in the early 1990s from a lifelong passion for horses and a desire to bring fresh ideas to the equestrian market.
As a family-run business founded in 1987, we began by supplying wholesale equestrian products to retailers across the industry, working alongside many of the sector’s most recognised brands. This experience gave us valuable insight into product design, quality, and the needs of riders and horse owners alike.
Over time, it became clear that we had ideas of our own. As horse owners and equestrian enthusiasts, we saw opportunities to create products that combined quality, practicality, and value while reflecting the needs of real riders. Determined to bring those ideas to life, we launched the Rhinegold brand and began developing our own collection of equestrian products.
What started as a small range quickly grew into a trusted name within the industry, built on a commitment to innovation, quality, and a genuine understanding of the equestrian lifestyle.
Our Brand
Rhinegold was created from a passion for horses and a desire to bring something different to the equestrian market. We wanted a brand that could celebrate colour, individuality, and attention to detail, while remaining firmly rooted in the traditions and discipline of equestrian sport.
Starting with a collection of bridles and leatherwork, Rhinegold quickly gained recognition among riders for its quality, style, and value. Drawing on extensive equestrian knowledge and years of industry experience, we introduced fresh ideas and exclusive designs without ever compromising on craftsmanship or performance.
The response from customers was overwhelmingly positive, and as demand grew, so did the brand. By the late 1990s, the Rhinegold range had expanded to include horse rugs, numnahs, accessories, and footwear, laying the foundations for the comprehensive collection enjoyed by riders today.
In 2012, a chance meeting with an innovative footwear manufacturer marked the beginning of a successful partnership built on a shared passion for creating practical, contemporary country footwear and riding boots.
This collaboration helped shape what has become one of the most successful areas of the Rhinegold range. Today, our footwear collection is trusted by riders across Europe, combining premium materials, thoughtful design, and exceptional comfort at an accessible price point. We believe riders should be able to enjoy beautifully crafted footwear without paying a luxury brand premium.
Customer feedback remains at the heart of our product development. Many of our most successful innovations have been inspired by conversations with riders, particularly through social media. A great example is our popular Luxus leather riding boot, which was later introduced in extra wide and extra short fittings following customer demand. By listening to our customers and responding to their needs, we continue to create products that deliver both style and practicality in the saddle and beyond.
Organic Growth
At Rhinegold Equestrian, we believe our products should speak for themselves. Rather than spending thousands on large-scale advertising campaigns, professional models, and luxury photoshoot locations, we focus on building our reputation through product quality, value, and customer trust.
By keeping all advertising, photography, and campaign work in-house, we significantly reduce marketing costs. Instead of passing those expenses on to our customers, as many premium brands do, we invest in creating exceptional equestrian products at fair and accessible prices.
This approach allows us to deliver outstanding quality and value without compromising on performance, style, or affordability.
Our range of horse rugs is manufactured using independently certified fabrics, giving you complete confidence in their performance. When we describe a rug as waterproof or breathable, those claims are backed by verified testing and certification.
All of our textile products are certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, ensuring they have been tested for harmful substances and dyes and meet strict international safety standards. This commitment to quality means our products are not only designed to perform, but are also safe for both horse and rider.
